This position is responsible for the continuity of the operation and decision making/solving of problems that arise in the absence of the administrator or director. This includes, but is not limited to, direct supervision of personnel and ensuring volunteer and paid staffing levels are adequate to meet emergency call requests. The operations supervisor will also cover emergency calls when necessary and administer medical care at the paramedic level.

Prior supervisory experience is preferred. A high school diploma (or equivalency) is required; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Applicants must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license and paramedic license with active medical control (minimum of two year’s experience). A comprehensive knowledge of operational, contractual and municipal requirements and town geography is required.

Special requirements:

  • Must be able to attend routinely scheduled meetings
  • Must be able to report to work in the event of emergencies on a 24 hour basis
  • Must be flexible with scheduling
